PHOTOGRAPHY

"A photograph is usually looked at – seldom looked into."  - Ansel Adams

Photography Portfolio

Mark's affinity of photography came hand-in-hand with his love of video production. In college, he learned that composition, lighting and color are not the only details that matter. He strongly believes that mood and raw emotion should be present in every picture he snaps. As a semi-professional photographer, he has shot feature stories, personality profiles and sporting events for several organizations and newspapers. Now, Mark is able to capture anything from portraits and parties to other special occasions. He is also quite capable of digitizing and restoring old photographs.

WAR WITH THE FOURTH
Honoring Veterans with Visuals

The Furious Fourth World War II Living History Group is a community organization comprised of reenactors and historians alike. Mark, a founding member, honors his grandfather who fought in the 4th Infantry Division, the same unit that the group portrays. As the unit's photographer, he snaps unique images that interpret the lives of average foot soldiers in World War II. Additionally, Mark serves as their Media Content Manager—producing engaging educational videos, designing the website and overseeing the organization’s popular Facebook page that boasts worldwide reach.

A RETROSPECTIVE OF HEALING
The Vietnam War Experience in PA
In addition to working on WPSU's documentary, A Time to Heal, Mark also assisted with the project's social media accounts and marketing efforts. He attended presentations and occasionally took photographs at community events.

The most prominent of these events was when The Traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall—an 80% replica of the Washington D.C. memorial—came to Centre County, Pennsylvania.

The Wall was escorted by over 400 motorcyclists to Innovation Park at Penn State. Over the course of four days, nearly 8,000 people attended veteran ceremonies, musical performances, screenings or knelt in remembrance. This WPSU produced reel summarizes these celebrations and also prominently highlights Mark's photographs, some also featured below.
